What Are AirPerks Fragments? The 45-Day Puzzle You Solve With Surveys

Fragments is the puzzle-in-the-background reward in AirPerks. Each survey you complete earns one Fragment, which fills in a piece of a hidden picture. Collect all 90 pieces over a ~45-day window and the puzzle reveals itself — and the announced gift card (e.g., "5€ Gift Card of your Choice") lands in your balance.
If Missions are the sprint and Streaks are the lucky little weekly hit, Fragments is the steady reveal.
How Fragments works, in one paragraph
Every time you complete a survey, you earn one Fragment — up to four Fragments per day. Each Fragment fills a piece of a hidden puzzle image. The goal is 90 Fragments inside a ~45-day window (the in-app view shows the exact start/end dates). When you place the 90th piece, the picture is revealed and the gift card — announced upfront on the Fragment Collection card — is delivered immediately. A new cycle then starts.
That's it. There's no claim button mid-cycle, no separate currency to manage. It tracks in the background.
The pace: why ~2 a day is the real target
The math is the friendly part of Fragments:
- 90 Fragments / 45 days = 2 per day average.
- The 4/day cap is the ceiling, not the expected pace.
- A reasonable rhythm — say 2 surveys most days, with some heavier sessions and some skipped days — finishes the cycle comfortably with margin to spare.
You can miss days. You can miss whole weeks. As long as the average across the window holds, you finish. That's why we call it the "casual rhythm" reward — it doesn't punish a busy week.
If you want to bank a buffer early in the cycle, hit the 4/day cap on a few sessions. If you want to coast, do 2 surveys a day for the next 45. Both get you to 90.
When you unlock Fragments
Fragments is available from Level 6 onward — the start of the Advanced tier.
To get to Level 6 you earn 100 XP per Level, and XP comes from every survey complete and every screenout. Most active users reach Level 6 within their first week or two on the app.
Where you see Fragments in the app
Two surfaces:
The status chip on the home screen — at the top of the home view, next to the Level badge and streak chip, sits a small Fragments chip showing the day's puzzle pieces filled out of 4. Four purple pieces = you've hit today's cap. Tap it to open the Fragment Collection view.
The Fragment Collection view — opens as a bottom sheet from the chip (or as a fullscreen list from settings). Shows:
- The announced reward (e.g., "5€ Gift Card of your Choice").
- The window dates and days remaining (e.g., "18th May – 1st Jul (43 days left)").
- A puzzle grid that fills in piece by piece as you collect Fragments — the image gradually reveals.
- A progress bar with the count (e.g., 1/90).
- The day's count: "You earned X out of 4 fragments today."
- A "Claim your Reward" button that activates the moment you place piece #90.

Why the 4-per-day cap exists
The cap is deliberate. Without it, the Fragment loop would just become "do as many surveys as possible to hit 90 fastest" — which is already what survey payouts incentivize. The Fragment cap encourages something different: show up steadily rather than burn out.
It also means once you hit 4 in a day, additional surveys don't add Fragment progress. Those surveys still pay everything else (survey reward, Mission progress, Streak point, Bonus Day boost if applicable, XP) — just the Fragment counter is locked at 4 for the day.
What you actually get when you hit 90
The gift card announced on the Fragment Collection card — delivered immediately, the same way as a normal payout. Most arrive within a few minutes; the history pill shows the status. The current example value (5€ at the time of writing) is set per cycle; check the Fragment Collection view in-app for what's on offer right now.
After delivery, a new ~45-day cycle starts with a fresh puzzle.
Fragments stack with everything else
The Fragment doesn't replace any other earning. Every survey that earns you a Fragment is also paying:
- Its base survey reward
- Mission progress (if a Mission is active)
- Streak progress (one of 7 toward the random bonus)
- Bonus Day +10% (if today is your chosen day and you're Level 11+)
- XP toward your next Level
- And, when you redeem the resulting balance to a cashback-eligible gift card, cashback on the redemption
That's the AirPerks "loyalty pays" design in action: a single survey is doing six different jobs at once. How the layers stack together is the meta-feature.
Fragments vs. Missions — easy to confuse
| Feature | Time horizon | Reward | Activity required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Missions | A few days | Announced bonus (e.g., $2.50 for 10 surveys) | Hit the target in the active window |
| Fragments | ~45 days | Announced gift card on completion (e.g., 5€) | 90 Fragments at up to 4/day, ~2/day average |
Missions are about pushing in a short window. Fragments are about showing up over a ~45-day window. Doing one doesn't change the other — both can be in progress at the same time, and a single survey contributes to both.
Practical tips
- 2 a day is the magic number. Two surveys a day across the full 45-day window puts you exactly at 90. Anything above that is a buffer.
- Bank early if you can. Hitting the 4/day cap in the first week of a cycle buys you flexibility for the rest of the window.
- Don't try to "rush" Fragments past 4. Once you've hit the cap for the day, additional surveys still pay everything else — the Fragment counter is just locked at 4 until tomorrow.
- The chip in the status bar is your daily nudge. If you see fewer than 4 purple pieces filled, there are Fragments left on the table today.
The Fragment loop is the quietest of the five AirPerks loyalty layers. It happens in the background, gives you a small visual progress hit every survey (a new puzzle piece), and pays off in a satisfying drop of a gift card every ~45 days. Treat it as a free bonus on top of the survey routine you'd be doing anyway.
Fragments unlocks at Level 6. If you're not in AirPerks yet, start in the web app or download AirPerks for iOS or Android — you'll be at Level 6 well within your first 45-day window.
